Yoni Steaming or V- steaming has been a sacred self-care practice that has been used by women for centuries to heal and tone the vagina. Yoni is Sanskrit for vagina and it also means sacred temple. It originates from Wise Women in African, Asian and Mayan cultures and has been used to treat a wide range of conditions:-

Painful and irregular periods

Endometriosis

Fibroids

Utrene Prolapse

Vaginal Infections

Brown/Dark blood during menstruation

Bloating, yeast infections

Heavy menstrual flow

Heals Postnatal/Postpartum issues

Ovarian Cysts

Heals vaginal tears, episiotomy or C-section scars

Restores bacterial PH bacterial vaginosis and odours

Relief for symptoms of menopause including dryness or pain

Tightens the vaginal canal

Detoxification of the womb and body

Emotional and Spiritual Benefits

Yoni Steaming is an act of self-recognition an act of self-love which we as women are starting to utilise here in the West. It is the tool to help us guide us on our path to self-enlightenment and exploration of our true potential.  By reclaiming our feminine power, we are learning to love ourselves again. It also helps you to:-

Reconnect to ancestral wisdom of the womb

Relieves tension and creates a state of bliss

Helps with insomnia

Can help and in healing from sexual trauma

It works by applying most heat to the pelvic floor, which heals the exterior tissues of the vagina as well as throughout the entire body via the bloodstream.  It increases the circulation, allowing it to shed old membrane and mucus build-up.  Steaming also supports the womb to it’s physical and emotional alignment.  When the herbs are heated in the water, the healing properties are released.

How many times you do this a month depends on the individual but I suggest not to do it every week but to aim at least 1-2 times a month max.  A few days before your period then a few days afterwards if you have no problems.

Don’t Do If….

Not suitable if you suffer with the following:-

Extremely heavy menstrual cycles

Vaginal infections

Open wounds

Sores or blisters

If you are pregnant

If you have piercings down there – remove them before steaming as the heat will cause the piercings to heat up and burn you

Do not use essential oils only fresh organic herbs.

If you have no real problems you can steam before your period and a few days after.  Do what your body tells as everyone is unique.
