Did you know that oiling your bellybutton is very beneficial for your health and well-being? That’s right! Your bellybutton! Or maybe you already have adopted this practice as part of your daily well-being routine?

⁣In Ayurvedic medicine, this type of self-care focuses on the connection between the physical and spiritual health and the bellybutton is considered a vital energy point and the origin of life as it links the Mum-to-be and baby providing the unborn child with nutrients he/she needs which flows between their bodies. ⁣

⁣In adulthood, the bellybutton continues to be the centre of balance a powerful energy centre (Solar Plexus Chakra) where there’s 72,000 nerve endings and pathways that leads to the bodies extremities. Once the oil is poured into the bellybutton, it’s easily absorbed and distributed throughout the body from lines formed when the umbilical cord was attached. ⁣

⁣Our bodies are truly magnificent!

So knowing how beneficial this type of self-care is, I started to look into what would be beneficial for me. Lemon essential oil mixed with Coconut oil is very good for pigmentation marks which I have on my face so you are probably thinking so why don’t you just apply it to your face then? Well, I’ve already use a very good skincare range and I don’t want to overload my face with too much products, it’s best to just keep it simple. ⁣

⁣There is no harm in applying oils to your navel and giving yourself a good massage but don’t over do it. Don’t apply too much pressure and make sure you do a patch test first beforehand if you are going to use essential oils as some oils like peppermint can cause temporary numbness and itchiness. ⁣
